Book Cover Designs
Description: Lewis C. Lin is the CEO of Impact Interview and a best selling author of technical interview prep books. I art directed, designed, and redesigned 4 book covers using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. In addition to visual design, I assisted in content strategy for the cover text and edited his newest book. For digital marketing, I created web advertisements for the books featured on Lewis-Lin.com.
Role: Visual Designer, Content Strategist
Tools: Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
THE PRODUCT MANAGER INTERVIEW
The Product Manager Interview:
I was given a PowerPoint mockup by author Lewis C. Lin for the book cover design. The desired color palette, layout, and typography was provided for me. From there, I created the book cover in Photoshop using size specifications produced by the Amazon publishing tool. For marketing, I produced a web advertisement to advertise the new edition of the book on Lewis's personal website.

Be The Greatest Product Manager Ever:
For this book, I worked with a remote book cover designer on the first few iterations and finalized small changes myself in Photoshop to get to the final product. I provided the designer with a desired color palette, font choice, and layout for the front & back cover. For the concept, Lewis wanted to use the Permanent Marker font to emulate a whiteboard since white boarding is fundamental to PMs for communicating ideas. In addition to providing art direction of the book cover design, I edited the book, provided content strategy direction for the back cover and created a web advertisement.
INTERVIEW MATH REDESIGN
Before
After Redesign
Interview Math:
For the redesign, the author wanted to give more gravitas to the title, use a more vivid color for the cover, and add additional text to the front cover. The web advertisement for Interview Math can be seen on lewis-lin.com.
DECODE & CONQUER

3rd edition
Decode and Conquer:
Due to counterfeiters on Amazon producing fake versions of Decode and Conquer, the author wanted to change the book cover by applying a new color palette and changing the verbiage on the front cover. Lewis wanted to retain most elements of the old cover since it's a recognizable book and a best-seller on Amazon for technical interview prep.
